LIMED OAK CHEST OF DRAWERS
A lovely early to mid 20th Century limed oak chest of drawers. Likely to date to around the 1930s or 40s. There is a faint stencil to the underside that suggests this may have started life as a War Department piece. The grain pattern on the sides is particularly striking, very much in the vein of Heal’s. The chest is a constructed from a combination of oak veneer and solid oak. The drawers are dovetail jointed. A very practical piece with tons of storage.
Measures; 75cm wide x 122cm high x 43cm deep.
This piece has had a light hand sand and fresh beeswax polish. It is in good condition with some signs of wear and some scuffs. The top has some veneer missing and there is some light bubbling on the lower of the right hand side (see photos). The side of the bottom drawer has a little bit of wood missing which mean you just have to lift it up to close it.
Priced accordingly.
