MARCO ZANUSO FOR ARFLEX
“LADY” Chair
This authentic Arflex 720 armchair is an icon of Mid Century design. Affectionately known as The “Lady” Chair it was conceived by the Italian architect and designer, Marco Zanuso who pioneered the use of foam rubber upholstery. The Lady chair was awarded a coveted gold medal at the 1951 Milan Triennale international exhibition of art and design. Today, examples are held in the archives of both MoMA and The Metropolitan Museum Of Art in New York. The original Arflex metal label is attached to the rear base.

In excellent condition. The armchair is sturdy and the seat & backrest padding are in brilliant, comfortable shape. Later recovered in an sympathetic mid tone yellow chenille type fabric which is in a truely fantastic state. There are no splits, holes or signs of wear. The brass legs are all solid and complete with there rubber caps. They show some signs of patina as one would expect from an armchair of this age.
