Danish c1970s. Iconic rocking chair designed by the highly sought after Hans J Wegner. The handsome ‘J16’ was originally introduced by Wegner in 1944, this one dates to exactly 1977 as it is complete with original F.D.B maker & date stamp under the armrest. Produced with a stunning handwoven paper cord seat and solid beech frame that is lacquered in an original complimentary deep brown.
Measures 64cm wide x 107cm high x 73cm deep.
In excellent vintage condition; Importantly, the paper cord is full in tact with no fraying or staining. The lacquer paint is also in good condition with just some minor wear to arms and top backrest which is very typical to see with this chair. No chips, splits or dents of note.
A modern reissue will still set you back £2000.
