ERNEST RACE for RACE FURNITURE
ANTELOPE CHAIR
c1950s. A British design classic, the Antelope chair had it’s first outing at the famed 1951 Festival of Britain, one of the founding moments in modernism in this country. Adorning the terrace of Royal Festoval Hall, the chair immediately claimed it’s place in design history. These 2 chairs with their ball feet are early pieces, exemplified by the original Race stamp to the base of the yellow chair.
