RUSTIC ELM PIG BENCH - STAMPED

An absolutely beautiful bench / pig bench / coffee table in an incredible solid elm. This piece is stamped in various places with carpenters crows feet along with the detail "H & W" and year "1956".

I suspect this piece dates to the late 19th or early 20th Century and the stamp was actually put on by a later owner rather than the maker, with the "KAO590" being an inventory number. It has been suggested that the H&W could refer to the shipbuilder Harland & Wolff (maker of The Titanic), but that is just an opinion. Either way it is a fantastic, versatile piece that would make for an excellent coffee/occassional table or hall/bedroom bench.

Measures 75cm Wide x 47cm High x 42cm Deep.

In very good antique condition. It has various historic splits, the most notable to the underside, however this piece is built like a tank and is absolutely rock solid on it's legs. There is no flex of wobble in the legs of the table.
